Much depends on comfort and personal preference, but there are many   other reasons to choose one material over another, such as:   Breathabilitybe easy to   wash and   durability.

cotton

Durable, washable at high temperatures and   comfortableCotton is a popular natural choice.  Available in a wide variety of thread   counts, look for higher numbers for a tighter weave and a   superior finish.

Many people prefer the breathability of cotton over   synthetic fabrics;;    It’s also worth noting that cotton is an affordable   option.

Disadvantage:

  • Superior Egyptian cotton comforters can be expensive.

Silk

Silk bedding is synonymous with   luxury.

While it is natural and a great hypoallergenic   choiceit is extremely expensive and difficult to   wash.  While some people   like the silky texture, others find it less appealing.

  • Children on the skin and hair.

Disadvantage:

  • Must be washed by hand or on a silk program with special   detergent.

Polyester / polyester   blends

When polyester is used on its own it can be a little scratchy on   your skin, so you often see it as a mixture.    It is a artificial substance that is generally   inexpensive.  It does   need to be washed at lower temperatures than cotton, but it tends to do so stay   wrinkle-free.

Avoid ironing B. Polyester is a   synthetic material that can melt.    Polyester is less durable than cotton and can attract   pet hair and lint.  It   can also irritate sensitive   skin.

  • Wrinkles are not as strong as cotton.

  • Machine washable.

  • May attract lint and pet hair.

linen

Linen bedding has grown in popularity in recent years as people   turn to natural fabrics.  While linen   is durable and breathable, it takes a long time   to soften and Wrinkles very easily.

It’s expensive too;    However, since it can take many, many years The price   can often be justified.

  • Extremely durable.
  • Breathable.
  • Natural fabric.
  • Hypoallergenic.

Disadvantage:

  • Expensive.
  • Wrinkles.
  • New bed linen takes a while to soften.
