The Versatile Space-Saving Solution: Murphy Bed Couch Combo

A foldaway sofa bed is the perfect combination of furniture and beds if you live in a tiny apartment.  It can also be an excellent option if you don’t have a spare guest room.  Why not buy a foldaway bed and couch combo instead of building an extra guest room as it is a lot cheaper?

You probably know that not all combination sofa bed combinations are created equal.  Hence, it is best that you know some of the critical factors to consider to ensure that you are getting the best value for money.

Perhaps the most important factor is the size of the Murphy sofa bed combo.  While this is space-saving furniture, it doesn’t mean that every piece out there will fit in your allotted space.

When making the dimensions, the first thing to consider is the size of the entire piece.  Make sure it fits nicely in its placement.  Don’t make it too big or too small.  The other size factor is the bed itself.

In most cases the bed will be kept upright in the back of the couch.  What you need to consider is the length of the bed when it is laid out.  Just make sure there is enough space when parking.  You want to do all of the measurement in advance instead of buying and realizing that when you put the bed down, it hits the TV.

Another thing to consider is the main material of the bed.  Your main choices are wood and metal.

Wood has the advantage of being the more aesthetically pleasing option than metal.  There is also an atmosphere of coziness.  On the flip side, it can be expensive, especially if you’re buying one that is made out of solid wood.  Wood also has the problem of warping and bending due to sudden changes in temperature.
Metal is the more durable option.  You don’t have to worry about warps, bends, or moisture-related issues.  It’s also the more economical choice.  However, a metal fold-away bed tends to make annoying noises when in use.
