Creative Ways to Enhance Your Gas
Fireplace

Direct vent gas fires

Use these modern fireplaces Direct vent logs for   burning.  Although   synthetic, they burn like real logs and produce   smoke (Carbon monoxide), which must be handled in two   ways:

  • It must be removed from the fireplace   compartment.  For a   coaxial (2-ply) exhaust pipe is attached to the   back of the fireplace housing.  Its   other end is connected to a vent.  The   coaxial tube works this way – its outer layer lets in fresh air to allow   combustion, while the inner layer releases the exhaust air into the   atmosphere.

  • Prevent the exhaust air from spreading in the   room.  The manufacturers   offer a High temperature front glass pane That   needs to stay closed or just slightly open while the logs   burn.

The directly ventilated trunks burn like natural wood.  And the contemporary designs control the   exhaust process quite efficiently.    Therefore, If you want the ambience of an authentic,   almost real fireplace, choose this type.  On the other hand, they generate less heat   than the models without ventilation, as the smoke generated during the   combustion process “eats up” some heat.

You want this model if:

  • You have young children and / or   pets.  The front pane of   glass prevents direct contact with the combustion chamber.

  • You are remodeling your house.  The coaxial pipe vent allows you to prevent   extensive masonry that can damage the structure of the house.  This is from particular   importance for apartments with shared walls.

  • You want one higher-level   installation.  It gives   the fireplace a more noble look.

  • Lovable designs and fire effects, one ethereal   ambience that is not only warm, but also   heartwarming.

  • Plus of course Fuel efficiency.  Contemporary design intelligently saves   energy.

Ventless (vent-free) gas   fires

they use Firewood that does not produce carbon   monoxide when burned.    They also produce more heat than, and therefore are, the direct   ventilation models more energy efficient. Since   vent-free models do not have a face seal, they have transfer   99.99% of the generated heat into the room.

However, these fire logs produce carbon dioxide and   moisture (water vapor) as by-products.  As a result, you can’t or you will use a   ventless fireplace for very long start to feel damp and   stuffy.  Indoor moisture   can also cause mold, mildew, and other bacteria.  You have to keep a window open to let the   by-products out.  This also leads to   some heat loss.

Ventless gas fires are popular because:

  • They are affordable.  Compared to direct exhaust models (starting   at $ 2,000), they’re over 50% cheaper ($   600-1,000).

  • they deliver clean heatingwithout   releasing microparticles of dust, soot or ash into the room   air.

  • you are more energy efficient than   the direct exhaust models

  • Modern designs are every bit of a work of   art!  No less tempting   than their direct vent cousins.

These are versatile designs that will   adapt to many types of decors.    Traditional solid wood or avant-garde light furniture, lots of green   indoors or more wall art, soft, concealed lighting or glowing chandeliers –   there is a tailor-made design for a ventless gas fireplace for all   decors.

Please note:

  • Ventless gas fireplaces are not legal in California   and Massachusetts

  • you cannot be used at altitudes above 4,500   feet because the oxygen-poor thin air cannot burn the   trunks.

  • Due to the moisture factor, these models are not recommended for   People with asthma, coughs and colds, and respiratory   diseases. On the other hand, they also serve as humidifiers,   which is great for indoor flora.
