Posted on April 24, 2026 By admin

The sudden loss of Nadia Farès has sent shockwaves through the entertainment world, leaving fans and colleagues reflecting on her life and work. She was 57. Reports indicate that she was found unconscious in a swimming pool at a private gym in Paris on April 11 after suffering cardiac arrest. She was taken to Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, where she remained in a coma before passing away on April 17.

Authorities have launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding her death, though early findings suggest no signs of foul play. Born in Morocco, Farès built a career that crossed borders and genres, earning recognition for her work in both French and international productions. She gained widespread attention in the thriller The Crimson Rivers and appeared in films such as War and Storm Warning, becoming known for performances marked by emotional intensity and presence.

Her television work also brought her to a wide audience, particularly through the series Marseille, where she starred alongside Gérard Depardieu between 2016 and 2018. The show played a role in the rise of French-language streaming productions, and her performance added depth to its dramatic tone. Beyond acting, she had been preparing for a new chapter, with plans for a 2026 project as a director and screenwriter.

Farès had previously faced serious health challenges, including surgery for a brain aneurysm in 2007 and other heart-related procedures that had been publicly acknowledged. She is survived by her daughters, Cylia and Shana Chasman, who shared a message expressing profound grief while honoring her strength, warmth, and guidance. Tributes from across the industry have highlighted not only her talent, but also her generosity and spirit. Through her work on screen and the lives she touched off it, Nadia Farès leaves behind a lasting artistic legacy.
