The Beauty of Daybed Cover Sets: Elevate
Your Space with Style

The point of a day duvet cover set is to dress up a bed and turn   it into a couch during the day.  A ruff   of dust hides every mechanism under the bed and makes the bed look like an   ordinary couch.  Quilted or simple   pillowcases can be placed over large cushions that reduce the depth of the   seat.  Or the depth can be reserved,   turning the daybed into a deep-seated couch.    Even so, there are many variations in the style and type of duvet from   which the daybed can be made.

Quilted toppers

Quilting is an ancient art, starting with the need to pad metal   armor or add insulation in a coat.    Quilted comforters were originally made from whole pieces of fabric   that were sewn to hold down, or from bats made of wool or cotton between the   layers.  Of course, women of all walks   of life have created patterns for the stitches over the years.  Patchwork is designed to make use of any   available fabric waste.  The Victorian   Crazy Quilt is probably the most famous patchwork style that used embroidery,   buttons, braids, and more to create a bedspread that was amazing in color and   ingenuity.

Pillow shams

Pillow cases are covers that are placed over pillows.  Often quilted, they coordinate with the   spread.  Three pillows on the back of   the day bed are traditional, but of course you can add throw pillows and   other decorative pillows if you wish.

Dust skirt

A ruff of dust around the edge of the bed helps to hide rollaway   beds or storage boxes under the bed.    It can be puckered, or it can be a simple straight piece of fabric   with a kick pleat or slit at the corners of the bed.  With daybeds, it helps to disguise the   texture of the furniture so that it looks more like a couch.  Bedspreads help create the illusion that a   daybed is really a couch.  They can be   formal, fun, or just plain casual.    They usually include a spread, a puff, and at least two or three   pillowcases coordinated with the puff and spread.  They can be a clever way to turn an   ordinary single bed into a deep-seated couch during the day and keep its   function as a simple bed at night.  The   cover you choose depends on your tastes, living style, and the location and   use of the daybed.  Below are ten   examples.
