But for women in particular, this routine can come with some health risks that aren’t often talked about. One of the biggest concerns is cystitis, a common urinary tract infection (UTI) caused when bacteria enter the bladder. Nearly 20% of women experience cystitis at least once in their lives, and for some, it becomes a recurring issue.
