One rainy evening, as the bakery was closing, she noticed a homeless veteran sitting outside, soaked and shivering. Without hesitation, she packed a bag of leftover pastries — food destined for the trash — and handed it to him. For her, it was simple kindness. For him, it was a lifeline.
