Mold creeping into your home isn’t just an eyesore—it can trigger allergies, breathing discomfort, and skin irritation. It tends to settle in damp, poorly ventilated spots, spreading across walls, ceilings, wood, and even furniture. Addressing mold early is important not only for a healthier living space but also to prevent long-term damage to your home.
One gentle yet highly effective solution is hydrogen peroxide. Unlike bleach—which often removes only surface discoloration and can leave behind harsh fumes—hydrogen peroxide absorbs deeper into porous materials like wood and drywall. A standard 3% household-grade bottle works well, offering a safer way to clean while reaching mold at its source.
Before you begin, gather a few basic supplies: a spray bottle filled with the 3% hydrogen peroxide, protective gloves, a mask, goggles, a scrub brush, cloths or sponges, and plastic covering to shield surrounding areas.
